As in past years, a special DASPP grant
requirement is the incorporation of professional development in direct
support of targeted initiatives. The commitment is tied to the concept of
building sustainable capacity and is intended to increase local expertise,
to implement and maintain aspects of a project over time.
The specific nature of professional
development associated with a particular proposed initiative will be
determined by project staff, working with a potential school or district
partner, during the proposal development phase of the collaboration.
Professional development is also available to help
school or district staff create communications tools for
information dissemination, or explore data
through spreadsheet or database software. On-site, and off-site training
is available in the following topics:
-
Database Design/Management (Microsoft
Access)
-
Spreadsheet Design/Management
(Microsoft Excel)
-
Microsoft PowerPoint
-
Website Design (Microsoft FrontPage)
-
Word Processing (Microsoft Word)
-
Desktop Publishing (Microsoft
Publisher)
-
TestWiz
Professional Development plans will be
generated for each school and/or district based on individual needs and
issues.
