Under current reform efforts underway in
the Commonwealth and, for that matter in the United States, public
schools/districts are facing growing expectations to delineate data-based
district, school, and individual student plans for enhancing achievement.
During the 2006-2007 school year, the
types of strategic planning initiatives will include:
-
Action Planning…detailing the various
components to be considered and reflected on in order to attain targeted
changes in curriculum, instruction, and/or assessment strategies.
-
District-Wide Improvement
Plans…system-wide foundations on which individual school initiatives
will be constructed.
-
School-based Improvement Plans…
(patterned after the Department of Education’s PIM process) directed at
achieving district goals and driven by student achievement data.
-
Individual Student Success Plan (ISSP)
Development…based on analysis of each learner scoring below the
proficient level of achievement on one or more MCAS measures . Each plan
is developed within the broader scope of both district and individual
school improvement plans.
-
Individual Education Plan (IEP)
Development…the integration of initiatives directed at increasing the
achievement of students with disabilities or other challenges placed
within the broader context of both district and school-based improvement
plans and derived from the detailed analyses of each learner’s
achievement.
-
Assistance in the developing of No
Child Left Behind (NCLB) Audit Reports by providing data-based
information to the partnered school/district.
-
Annual Yearly Progress (AVP)
Reports…the use of student data in targeting specific areas of the
curriculum , test taking strategies and/or other variables requiring
increased attention in order to continue growth in student achievement.
